The biggest thing shown to me in that game? Jack Campbell the US goalie... He's only 17 years old, hasn't even been drafted yet. The kid played well under the pressure that comes with playing Canada in Canada. Granted, he did seem to get a little flustered after that first shootout goal made it past him (kind of fluky in my opinion), but overall, he played a great game. Having a veteran goalie like Campbell back in the tournament next year will be huge.
The next three games are going to be a wild, wild ride...
In other America news... the US named their Men's Olympic team today. I'm kind of bummed that Billy Guerin didn't make it, I would have liked to see his veteran presence. But alas, I like our team. I'm not crazy, we're definitely not as talented as Canada, and maybe not as talented as Russia or Sweden, but we've got some grit. That's what everyone's talking about, and I think that's what could serve to make a difference. If Ryan Miller (or Tim Thomas for that matter) plays well, then the United States could surprise some people.
What do I want in the New Year?
... and IIHF medal.
U-S-A!!!

While being Canadian and cheering like crazy for Team Canada last night (do you know how frustrated I was that we gave up not one but /two/ shorthanded goals?!?!?!) I will say that I was really impressed by Campbell. That guy was standing on his head for USA yesterday.
@EhisCDN I thought the two shorthanded goals were beautiful... for obvious reasons. haha. Here's to Campbell keeping up his great work (or Mike Lee - they seem to be splitting the games) -- I want a Canada/USA rematch in the final. :)
